Fundraiser started for Rochester couple who lost home to Tuesday fire

ROCHESTER - The daughter of a couple whose home was destroyed by a fire has launched an online fundraiser.

Jessica Cook said her dad, Jody Keravich, is out of the hospital and he and her stepmother Karen are living at Cook's grandmother's house.

Jody Keravich had been working in the garage of his Shaw Drive home when the fire started around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

There was heavy smoke and fire when crews arrived on scene with flames shooting through the roof of the home.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the garage and Keravich had to be taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Because the home is at the end of the dead-end road, fire crews had trouble accessing water as the closest fire hydrant was a 1/2 mile away. Tankers were brought in to supply water.

Crews from Dover, Somersworth and Milton assisted at the scene.

The fire is under investigation.

Cook has already raised almost $2,500 of her $5,000 goal on the Go Fund Me website.
