Fugitive sex offender from Hampton arrested in Florida after 10 months on the run
HAMPTON - Fugitive sex offender Michael Gillen, 33, was arrested at a Sarasota, Fla., home this week.
Gillen was wanted for failing to maintain his sex offender registration status. He was convicted in 2001 of six counts of felonious sexual assault on a child between the ages of 13 and 16, and 14 counts of child pornography.
He is a level 3 sex offender, which means the court has deemed the most likely to re-offend.
He had been missing since Sept. 9, 2015.
