Friday marks the 46th official Earth Day, and NH is celebrating

Earth Day started in 1970 after an oil spill in the United States and today marks the 46th time American's have celebrated Earth Day.

Earth Day is now celebrated worldwide to raise awareness about the environment and how to protect it.

Here in New Hampshire, people have been making a difference in many ways.

On the Seacoast, kids helped plant flowers, on Mount Major, a group of volunteers cleaned out drains and removed graffiti, and Concord High School students collected food waste to make 'Mount Trashmore.'

Those aren't the only things going on for Earth Day, on Saturday the Monadnock Regional Earth Festival will have environmental crafts and there are a list of family activities for Earth Day in Exeter.

Everyday is a good day to celebrate Earth Day by picking up trash and recycle tech products.
