Free HIV testing offered through end of June


CONCORD - The state Department of Health and Humans Services is offering free HIV tests for New Hampshire residents at certain locations through the end of June.

The Department estimates that one in eight people are infected with HIV and are not aware of it yet. About 70 percent of HIV victims in New Hampshire are 45 years of old or older. HIV is the virus that causes AIDS.

Free testing will offered at locations in Laconia, Manchester, Nashua and Claremont. For information about where and when, check this list or call the DHHS Infectious Disease Prevention, Investigation and Care Section at 271-4496.
