Fraud alert: skimming device found on Goffstown ATM machine

GOFFSTOWN - Police say a bank card skimming device was found attached to a Bank of America ATM in the Shaw's Plaza on Mast Road, and they are urging anyone who used the ATM to check their bank statements.

Data thieves placed the fake front over a magnetic strip reader that unlocked the door leading into the ATM, police said on Sunday. The illegal scanning devices can record information from the magnetic strips on bank and credit cards. Bank officials were notified of the discovery.

Anyone who used the ATM at 553 Mast Road is urged to check bank and credit card statements for any unauthorized transactions.

Police say their investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call the Goffstown Police Department at (603) 497-4858.
