Franklin man arrested after allegedly holding 1-month-old baby hostage
FRANKLIN — A local man faces charges after police say he took a 1-month-old baby hostage during a dispute with his wife.
According to the Union Leader, Thomas Carroll was arrested after police responded to a domestic violence complaint at 72 West Bow St. on Friday morning. They say Carroll, who allegedly assaulted his wife, had barricaded himself inside their home. Police entered the home to check on the welfare of the infant and arrested Carroll.
He was charged with simple assault, attempted domestic violence, simple assault on a police officer, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child. He was being held on $25,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin Circuit Court later this month.
