Fox bites 12-year-old girl in Dover near elementary school

DOVER — A 12-year-old girl was bitten in the arm by a fox Sunday night, police said.

The girl was walking in the Garrison Elementary School neighborhood around 7 p.m. when what she believed to be a fox bit her arm, according to Fosters.

Family took the girl to a hospital for treatment and she was later released.

The Dover police department contacted the administration of Dover public schools about the possibility of a fox being around the school.

The Dover school department informed families of Garrison Elementary School students about the fox bite by telephone calls on Tuesday.

Police are working with New Hampshire Fish and Game regarding this case.
