Fournier Foods, a bad neighbor for East Concord?

CONCORD - In Concord, we might see a big decision Wednesday night on the ongoing poultry plant controversy.

Fournier Foods wants to build a poultry processing plant on Locke Road, near a country club and a residential area of the capitol city.

The City Council has tabled this issues before and has been met with a lot of complaints from East Concord residents.

NH1 investigated Fournier Foods records and wanted to know, will they be a bad neighbor for those in East Concord?

Fournier Foods has no OSHA violations and has submitted extensive paperwork with the city of Concord ensuring safety to the workers and residents in the surrounding area.

Fournier has included documentation saying it guarantees proper disposal of waste, and no use of toxic chemicals that would affect air quality.

The Concord City Council meets Wednesday night at 7 and will vote on if these plans will be approved.
