CONCORD — The former owner of a Manchester bar charged in the largest methamphetamine drug bust in New Hampshire history has pleaded guilty in federal court.

Rigoberto Ramirez-Aldava, 40, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute, and intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Police previously said Ramirez-Aldava, a Mexican citizen, was getting meth from Mexico and selling it at his bar, El Patron Sports Bar and Grill on Wilson Street in Manchester.

Undercover officers with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) began investigating Ramirez-Aldava last summer, court documents show.

Officials said he sold one of those officers meth on two separate occasions in June 2016. Ramirez-Aldava was arrested in July after he planned to sell the undercover officer ten pounds of meth for $85,000.

In total, officers seized 16.5 pounds of meth from Ramirez-Aldava, which is worth almost $500,000 at street value.

“This record-setting seizure of methamphetamine in New Hampshire demonstrates DEA’s commitment to disrupt and dismantle Mexican drug trafficking organizations who have become the primary manufacturers and distributors of methamphetamine to cities throughout the United States,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Michael J. Ferguson in a statement.

Ramirez-Aldava pleaded guilty to the charges in the U.S. District Court in Concord on Thursday. He's scheduled to be sentenced on June 22.
