Former NH day care worker faces child pornography charges

A former day care director has been charged with possession of child pornography in Lebanon.

Michael Whelton 53, of Enfield, was arrested Sept. 6, 2014, and is facing with four counts of possession of child pornography.

Welton was using a laptop computer connected to his position at the Children's Center of the Upper Valley, returning it to the company after he was fired for allegations of embezzlement in July. He had worked there for two years.

Police searched the computer and found numerous images of child pornography.

Enfield police have their own ongoing investigation in conjunction with the US Attorney's office as well as the FBI. No charges have been filed by Enfield police.
