Former Nashua court officer gets prison term for sex assault

NASHUA - A former court security officer has been sentenced to at least 10 years in prison after admitting he sexually assaulted a young girl over the course of four years.

David S. Morse, 73, of Merrimack, pleaded guilty Dec. 18 to two charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault.

Police said he sexually assaulted the girl from 2010 until July of this year. The victim was 6 at the start of the assaults.

He was sentenced to 10-40 years in prison with credit for 150 days already served. Morse was also ordered to register as a sex offender, complete a sex offender program and have no contact with minors under the age of 18.

Until his arrest on July 21, Morse was a court security officer at Superior Court South in Nashua for 12 years. He was placed on leave when he became the subject of an investigation and was fired after his arrest.
