Former Manchester West High student in court after causing lockdown
MANCHESTER - Damian Johnson was in Manchester District Court on Friday morning--charged with criminal trespassing, disturbing school and falsifying evidence.
Manchester West High School officials locked down the facility Thursday after Johnson allegedly walked into the school with a Co2 airsoft gun and knife.
"I can't explain it--he's just very crazy," said Terahja Williams, who identified herself as a former fried of Johnson's.
Williams had no idea Johnson was the cause of the lockdown until after he was in cuffs.
"It was just lockdown, that's it--nobody knew til afterwards," she said.
Johnson has a record, including assault charges, stalking and a fugitive from justice in Florida.
"He gets angry really easily," said Brittney Furlow.
Furlow's sister reportedly helped Johnson hide his weapons to prevent him from getting in trouble. She said her sister was "in shock" after Thursday's events, and that she had also been expelled.
"She just took it from him to save him I guess," Furlow said.
Johnson is due back in court for a probable cause hearing on October 8.
