Former Gilford woman accused of trying to smuggle pills into jail in her bra
LACONIA - A former Gilford woman accused of trying to smuggle pills into the Belknap County jail inside her bra was arrested in Milford.
According to the Laconia Daily Sun, Selina Armes, 34, was arrested by the Belknap County Sheriff's office on a warrant out of Worcester, Mass. for probation violations in July of 2014. She had been convicted previously of drug possession, forgery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in that state.
During that arrest, she was searched and found in possession of 70 pills sewn inside her bra. The pills were subsequently found to be morphine buprenorphine and alprazolam. Armes was indicted last month for three counts of possession of controlled drugs and the notice of indictment was sent to her address Gilford.
When she failed to appear for her arraignment last week, a warrant was issued for her arrest and she was discovered to be living in Milford where she was taken into custody.
She is being held without bail.
