Former Danville fire chief David Kimball passes away

DANVILLE – Former fire chief David Kimball, who worked for the Danville fire and rescue departments for over 50 years, has died.

According to the Union Leader, Kimball served on several town boards and pushed for construction of public safety complexes in the town.

One of Kimball’s most notable moments as fire chief was the August 2001 sighting of a monkey roaming around Danville.

Kimball retired from the fire department in 2004.
