Former Chichester Fire Chief claims settlement breach

CONCORD (AP) — A former fire chief who sued a New Hampshire town says the terms of his settlement have been breached.
Gilbert Vien accused the town of Chichester of wrongfully terminating him in 2010. A settlement was reached in February 2013.
The settlement stated Vien would receive nearly $28,000 and stipulated he would not be retaliated against in his job with the highway department.
A motion filed last year to reopen the case says he was fired two months after the settlement "for an alleged matter that allegedly occurred on or about April 18, 2013." Vien says he wants the agreement enforced and is seeking damages.
The Concord Monitor reports a Superior Court justice ruled Sept. 14 that a bench trial should be scheduled for the week of Oct. 19.
