Former Belknap County sheriff's deputy accused of sexually assaulting 5 inmates posts bail

DOVER - A former Belknap County Sheriff's Deputy has posted bail after he was charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault for allegedly having sex with five inmates.

According to the Laconia Daily Sun, Ernest Justin Blanchette, 36, was being held on a $100,000 cash bail or $400,000 corporate surety, where it is unclear how the bail was posted or who posted it.

Blanchette, was indicted in October 2015 for one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault on a female prisoner he was transporting from Belknap County to the State Prison for Women in Goffstown.

He was indicted again on eight more charges for sexually assaulting five different inmates. officials said he assaulted inmates being transported to or from correctional facilities.

Blanchette's trial is set for April.
