Former Bedford taekwondo instructor sentenced in sexual assault case

BEDFORD (AP) — A former taekwondo instructor in New Hampshire has been sentenced to a year in jail for sexually assaulting a girl.

Tyler McDonough was an instructor at Master An's Taekwondo in Bedford in in 2014 when the girl was assaulted. WMUR-TV reports she said in a written statement that she had looked up to him as a mentor.

McDonough declined to speak at his sentencing Friday.

Once he is released from jail, McDonough will have to register as a sex offender in Manchester.
