Foliage spectacle peaking just in time for Columbus Day in North Country of NH

NH1 Meteorologist

Despite this year's drought, the fall foliage show is starting to come on strong in central and northern New Hampshire.

Just in time for Columbus Day leaf peepers, the North Country is experiencing near peak color.

There were some concerns this year's drought would lead to muted color, or a shorter duration of the annual fall show.

So far, this has not been the case in northern New Hampshire, where most report spectacular, vibrant color over the last few days.

Color is starting to expand through central and southern New Hampshire, where colors will peak in the next one to two weeks, from northwest to southeast.
