Flu outbreak at Manchester VA prompts facility to restrict visits

MANCHESTER - The Manchester VA is restricting visits because of a flu outbreak at the facility.

In a post on its Facebook page, the VA is asking family and friends of people in the Community Living Center and the Medial Center to avoid visiting at this time.

The VA said some exceptions can be made and visitors should contact the nurse's station to get one.

All staff, veterans and guests coming to the medical center are being asked to delay their visit or appointment if they have a fever, muscle aches, cough, headache, joint aches, chills, eye pain, sore throat, tiredness, runny nose, stuffy nose or sneezing. Those who can't delay their visit and have any of these symptoms, they are required to wear a mask while in the medical center.

Masks and hand sanitizer are located at all entrances of the facility.
