Fish and Game reminds Granite Staters to wear helmets after ATV crash

NEW HAMPTON — A 60-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries after he lost control of the ATV he was driving, sending him into a tree on Friday around 7 p.m.

Ronald Ballou, of New Hampton, was driving on Kelley Pond Road when he lost control of his four-wheeled ATV, went off the road and hit a tree. He was not wearing his helmet at the time of the crash and sustained injuries.

Unlawfully operating upon a roadway and speed appear to be major contributing factors in the crash, according to Fish and Game officers.

Conservation Officers remind all off highway recreational vehicle enthusiasts that OHRV’s are prohibited from operating on roads that are not open to OHRV use and to always wear a helmet.
