Fish and Game looking for suspect who shot 7 ducks in Franklin

FRANKLIN - Fish and Game officers are looking for a person who illegally shot seven ducks Tuesday night.

Around 5 p.m. Lt. James Kneeland responded to Chance Pond for reports of the duck shooting. With the help of the Franklin Fire Department, Kneeland recovered seven dead mallard ducks from the pond.

Officials say the suspect made no attempt to retrieve the birds after shooting them.

The incident took place near the intersection of Chance Pond Road and Carr Road in Franklin. Witnesses said a dark pickup left the scene around the time the ducks were shot.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fish and Game dispatch at (603) 271-3361 or Operation Game Thief at 1-800-344-4262.
