CONCORD – The New Hampshire Democratic Party tells NH1 News that it raised at least $230,000 from the recent McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner.
And the state party says that figure could increase, as checks from the May 3 fundraising event at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester are still coming in.
This year’s dinner, which attracted some 600 people, was headlined by U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who was the first and only woman elected as House Speaker.
The state party added that it netted more than $200,000 from the dinner. And they said that thanks to the among raised from the event, they’ve now brought in around $450,000 in fundraising for the year.
The dinner, named for Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and the late Sen. Tom McIntyre, is one two annual major state Democratic fundraising events. Last October, former President Bill Clinton headlined the other event, the annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner, which was also held at the Radisson.
Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin headlined last year’s McIntyre-Shaheen dinner. The event was first held in 1959, when it was just known as the 100 Club Dinner.
