First on NH1 News: Ben Carson's well organized trip to NH
CONCORD – Dr. Ben Carson will make three must-stops on his next visit to New Hampshire.
NH1 News learned Tuesday that the famed neurosurgeon will speak at the Politics and Eggs series, talk to a group of Seacoast business leaders hosted by Renee Plummer, and hold a town hall at Turbocam International in Barrington, when he returns to New Hampshire on Tuesday, July 7.
It’s Carson’s third trip to the Granite State since launching his campaign for the Republican presidential campaign on May 4, and his fourth trip this year.
Carson will start his day in the first-in-the-nation primary state headlining a Seacoast business breakfast in Portsmouth organized by Plummer. She and her husband Danny, who are leading GOP activists along the Seacoast, have been courted by Republican presidential candidates the past couple of cycles.
In the afternoon, Carson will speak at the latest edition of Politics and Eggs, which is being held at the Bedford Village Inn. The speaking series, a must stop for White House candidates, is organized and hosted by the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College and The New England Council.
At 5pm, Carson will be the main attraction at Strafford County GOP town hall at Turbocam in Barrington. Turbocam’s Barrington facility is becoming a popular spot this cycle for Republican presidential contenders.
Carson stood at 6% in the latest poll of likely GOP primary voters in New Hampshire. That put him in fifth place out of nearly twenty names tested in the Suffolk University survey, which was released Tuesday morning.
And Carson stood in fourth place, at 11%, in the latest national poll of Republican primary voters, which was conducted for NBC News and the Wall Street Journal.
