CONCORD – Three prominent GOP activists from Salem and Atkinson are now backing Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida’s bid for the GOP presidential nomination.

NH1 News has learned that Shannon Bettencourt and Judy Galluzzo of Salem, and Steve Lewis of Atkinson are now part of Team Rubio.

Rubio was in Salem last Thursday, holding a town hall at the Derry-Salem Elks Club. He also made stops in Exeter and Manchester during a one day swing in the first-in-the-nation primary state.

NH1 News confirmed Tuesday morning that Rubio will return to New Hampshire on Saturday to march in the Wolfeboro July 4th parade. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who Tuesday announced his bid for the GOP nomination, will also march in the Wolfeboro parade, which kicks off at 10am.

Bettencourt is chairman of the Salem Budget Committee. She was elected to the position last year. She previously served as a communications specialist for the New Hampshire House of Representatives, as well as several Republican campaigns.

Galluzzo of Salem is a community leader from Salem who previously served as Salem GOP Chair for 10 years. She also served as Rockingham County Chair for the Romney for President Campaign, Town Chair for Sununu for Senate, Bass for Congress and Horn for Congress, while running a number of other races for locally elected officials. Galluzzo previously served on the staff of Gov. John H. Sununu.
