Firefighters respond to 30 unit apartment building in Manchester

MANCHESTER — Firefighters battled a fire in a 30-unit apartment building on Sunday.

A fire engine and ladder truck responded to the apartment at 195 Eastern Ave. at about 11 a.m.

The building was equipped with automatic alarms that alerted the firefighters to the small burn in a 3rd floor kitchen.

The small fire by the stove was partially extinguished by the sprinkler system.

Firefighters put out what was left of the fire then assisted residents who were affected by the sprinkler water.

Damages were estimated to be $10,000.
