Firefighters of Derry say thanks in YouTube video, stress importance of bond with town
DERRY - Firefighters of Derry are saying thanks and highlighting why a strong department is important for the town and people.
Once Derry Fire Station 4 opened back up last year after shutting down due to tax cuts, firefighters of Derry as well as representatives of the Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire traveled to IAFF Headquarters in Washington DC to explain just how much local stations mean to people.
Firefighters created an informational video that highlights the importance of having a highly trained and properly staffed fire department in the town of Derry, after the temporary closing of Station 4 sparked much controversy.
In the video fire members stress the fact that as a tax payer, you should feel very safe knowing that fire members are here for you and the entire community no matter what the situation may be, and that Derry's firefighters are fully committed.
Many residents were very happy with the reopening of Derry Fire Station 4, while some expressed their experiences with their local troop members in the featured video that was showcased in Washington below:
