Fire Marshal: Injuries from Cornish fair ride resulted from braking issue
CORNISH - An investigation found that the amusement ride that injured two adults and a child at the Cornish Fair last Friday had a mechanical issue with the brakes.
The State Fire Marshals report said that the brakes did not hold causing the ride to keep moving.
As a result, a 28-year-old woman and an eight-year-old girl suffered minor injuries when they fell out of one of the cars on the Zipper ride.
A 23-year-old ride worker was also injured when one of them fell on him.
All three people were transported to local hospitals and treated for minor injuries.
The Fanelli Amusement Company that manufactured the ride returned the ride to their maintenance facility for a thorough exam and repairs.
