Fire in Milton was likely the cause of downed power lines
MILTON — Fire in Milton was likely the cause of downed power lines.
According to Wakefield Fire/Rescue, the blaze started around 7 p.m Friday.
The section of Route 109 contains only a handful of homes on the south side of the lake that share a Milton address.
The Lovell Lake Road home neighbors both Wakefield and Milton in the northern most part of town.
When the fire broke out, according to Milton Fire-Rescue's Facebook post, it was initially believed to be a Wakefield home but was soon discovered as a Milton residence.
When first responders showed up at the scene, they were prevented from entering the driveway due to power lines that had come down, Milton Fire Department documented.
After splitting the lines into two, the department reported they had the fully engulfed building under control within the hour.
Milton police say they seized a game camera on the property once the scene was cleared at about 9 p.m.
As reported this will be used as an investigative tool to find the actual cause of the fire.
Both towns were credited for their involvement in extinguishing the fire in the department's post.
