Employees of Naughton and Son Recycling plant in Bradford got a scare when sparks from the tracks of a backhoe ignited flammable liquids at around 9:30 a.m.
Crews said the flames were 30 feet high when they arrived, so they called for backup.
Four workers inside the plant all escaped without injury.
Workers said they were able to remove a nearby gas can from the area before it could explode.
