FBI looks for clues in North End to help solve Denise Robert murder

MANCHESTER - It's been longer than two months since 62-year-old Denise Robert was shot and killed in the North End while taking her evening walk.

There have been no arrests in this case and a reward for information continues to grow.

The FBI was in Manchester on Thursday to continue to investigate.

The details are limited, and the N.H. Attorney General isn't releasing information about what the FBI units are looking for.

Neighbors told NH1 News just their presence in the area is a swift reminder that it's been nearly 75 days without answers in the Robert murder.

“[It’s like] something out of a crime scene or unsolved mysteries,” said Robert Roach, as he watched police cruisers line Carpenter Street.

“They blocked off the roads we usually walk and police are all around and they are looking for something,” said Lydia Garneau who lives in the North End.

The Attorney General not speaking on what the FBI is searching for but they were out in full force.

Camp was set up along Carpenter and North Adam’s Street as teams canvased the neighborhood, and used metal detectors in people’s front lawns and trees.

The Attorney General said that this is not the first time investigators have searched thoroughly for clues.

Some neighbors even told us they were not ready to be identified after what happened here.

“I guess I’m happy to know that like I said, it’s not being swept under the rug," said Erin Grace, who was on a morning run. "I’m glad that steps are being taken to find out what happened and make everyone in the neighborhood feel safer."

“I just hope they find the person who killed her,” said Garneau, telling NH1 News that although time has passed, the neighborhood hasn’t forgotten Robert. “Every time we go by there, we remember.”

Police are expected to have the roads reopened later Thursday night to local traffic.

If need be, they will be closed Friday to continue the investigation.
