Family of 5 escapes Bradford fire


BRADFORD - A family of 5 was not hurt after a fire broke out in their home in Bradford at about 1 a.m. Tuesday.

A family member told NH1 News that a teenager woke up and saw a light that turned out to be flames. She then woke up her two brothers and parents. They all made it out safely.

The home is located on West Meadow Road in Bradford. The homeowner said the home is destroyed and nothing can be salvaged.

The homeowner said he built most of the home himself and the family has lived there since 1995.

One cat made it out safely. The family has not been able to locate a second cat.

A garage and trailer were not damaged by the fire.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
