Family expresses frustration at unsolved murder of Denise Robert 1 year later

MANCHESTER - Investigators are still trying to figure out who murdered a well-known woman in a North End neighborhood one year ago Tuesday.

READ: It has been 1 year since Denise Robert was murdered in Manchester - still no arrests

Denise Robert, 62, was shot while walking her regular route, family said. Witnesses found her on the side of the road. Autopsy results revealed Robert died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Neighbors reported hearing a 'firecracker' sound, but descriptions were vague.

To date, investigators are looking for a dark or rust colored truck, driven by a white man in a white tank top.

Dozens of tips from the public have come in over the last 365 days, said Assistant Attorney General Jane Young. Investigators followed several leads but none have led to a suspect.

"There is at least one individual that has information and for whatever reason they have decided not to come forward," Young said.

Young also added they have not ruled out that more than one person could have been involved.

Tom Robert, Denise Robert's brother said he and a few of his siblings are becoming frustrated that the murder has not been solved, but said he understands investigators are diligently working the case.

"We want to make sure they catch the right person and put them in jail for a long time," Robert said.

Robert said he hopes an upcoming vigil will prompt someone to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Manchester police. There is a $40,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
