Family escapes safely after early morning fire in Bow

BOW - A family on Bela View Drive got out of their home safely after a fire broke out around 1:30 in the morning.

Firefighters say the house had smoke detectors but they believe the call came in after someone smelled smoke. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage to the house was considered moderate though the five residents and their dog were not able to return last night.

The Red Cross also responded to the scene and made sure the family had a place to stay.
