SHANGHAI (AP) Chinese relatives of 36 people killed in a New Year's Eve stampede in Shanghai have visited the disaster site for traditional seventh-day commemorations for the dead.
Some wailed and some staggered with grief on Tuesday as they mourned their family members.
The disaster, one of the worst to strike the Chinese showcase city of Shanghai, shocked the metropolis as well as the country.
A middle-aged woman broke down on the riverfront area known as the Bund, crying out for her child who was killed in the stampede. The woman was then dragged away by government workers.
Another family brought a photo of a young woman, laid flowers and offered fruits. The families were allowed only about five minutes each, one family at a time.
