Fallen police officers honored during ceremony outside NH statehouse
CONCORD — A gathering in front of the state police memorial took place Friday to honor officers killed in the line of duty.
Members of the law enforcement, department of corrections, state legislature, public and the media attended the event on the statehouse lawn.
The hourlong ceremony included speakers Gov. Chris Sununu and Attorney General Gordon McDonald, who read this year's the Roll of Honor.
The names of 394 officers killed in the line of duty were added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. The 394 officers included 145 officers who were killed during 2016, plus 249 officers who died in previous years but their stories had been lost in history until now. Forty-eight of the fallen were officers in New Hampshire.
