NASHUA - An early morning reported explosion in a Gate City neighborhood prompted a bomb squad response and the evacuation of some area residents.
Police were called to 15 Vespa Lane at 2:34 a.m. Saturday after a report of a loud noise or explosion. Authorities say the explosion was actually the detonation of a firework device.
Another device was found, but it had not been detonated.
The Hazardous Device Unit was called in as a precaution, and both devices were disposed of.
There does not appear to be any threats to public safety at this time, police said.
A man who lives at the address did not want to be identified, but he tells NH1 News he has no idea who could be responsible.
Anyone who may have more information is asked to call the Nashua Police Dept. at (603) 594-3500.
