Expect delays and road closures during Thursday's Easterseals 5k walk and run in Manchester
MANCHESTER — The 18th annual Easterseals "Walk with Me" 5K walk and run is expected to bring thousands to downtown Manchester on Thursday.
The race will start in Veteran's Memorial Park and head down West Merrimack to Canal Street. Then the route heads north on Canal until takes a right on West North Street, then a left onto Elm Street and the first left onto West Webster Street before coming back on River Road/Canal Street and ending at the park.
The walk and race kicks off at 6:30 p.m. but some roads will be closed in the area hours earlier. According to Manchester police, Elm Street will be closed from Granite to Merrimack at 3 p.m. At 6:20 p.m. River Road/Canal Street will be closed from Clarke Street to Granite Street. Also Webster Street between Elm and River Road will be closed and North Street between Elm and River Road will be closed at this time for the duration of the race.
Officials say avoid the area if at all possible.
