Exhausted, dehydrated woman rescued from Mount Monadnock
MOUNT MONADNOCK — A woman descending Mt. Monadnock alone was rescued after being overcome by exhaustion and dehydration.
Jennifer Bixby, 30 of Massachusetts, called 911 requesting assistance at about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Conservation Officers initiated a rescue due to her condition and the impending inclement weather. They were able to locate Bixby at about 7:40 p.m. after hiking through the rain and fog.
Bixby was able to hike down with assistance from two Conservation Officers who provided her with food, water and extra layers. They arrived at park headquarters at about 10:15 p.m.
