Exeter to celebrate team's return from Cal Ripkin World Series

EXETER — A team of 12-year-old baseball players will be feted Wednesday with a rally and parade, honoring the town's first team to reach the Cal Ripkin World Series.
According to Seacoastonline, the New England regional champions from Exeter spent more than a week competing against all-star teams from Hawaii, Alabama, Idaho, Japan and Ohio Valley in Maryland.
And though they exited the tournament on Thursday, Coach Matt Smith said the team was in good spirits and ready to celebrate their experience.
The parade will depart from the Margarita's parking lot heading for downtown via Portsmouth Avenue around 6 p.m. It will continue down High Street and Water Street heading for the Lincoln Street School and ending at Currier Field around 6:15; a ceremony for the team will begin around 6:20.
