Authorities said a hiking companion of Gabriel Williams of Exeter called for help at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday to report that his friend needed assistance getting off of the mountain.

Fish and Game officials and emergency medical responders found Williams about 1.2 miles from the trailhead.

He was treated by Nottingham and Exeter medical personnel at the scene, then transported to an ambulance and Exeter Hospital for further treatment.

No information on his condition was provided.
