Ex-suburban New York police officer, 2 daughters found dead

HARRISON, N.Y. (AP) A neighbor of a retired suburban New York police officer found dead with his two teenage daughters says he heard a woman screaming, "my God, they're dead. He killed himself."

Police in the village of Harrison have provided no details about Saturday's deaths of 52-year-old Glen Hochman and his daughters, Alissa and Deanna.

The White Plains police department also released no information on the deaths. Hochman had worked there for 22 years before retiring recently. A statement from the police commissioner called the deaths "an unfathomable tragedy."

Neighbor Dante Garritano said Sunday that he saw ambulances and heard a woman screaming into her phone.

Garritano lives three doors away. He says he'd see Hochman planting flowers or walking a dog but did not know the family well.

Hochman last year won his department's life-saving award for keeping an unresponsive man alive until paramedics arrived.
