Ex-Rochester state rep Don Leeman arraigned, pleads not guilty

DOVER - Former Rochester state representative Don Leeman was arraigned Wednesday in Strafford County Superior Court on charges of bribery and witness tampering.

Leeman pleaded not guilty. He did not have a lawyer and had to fill out paperwork to request that a lawyer be appointed to him, causing some delays in the case.

Leeman is accused of trying to get an employee in the Rochester Housing Authority to provide a letter containing false information regarding his residency after he was accused of voter fraud during the February presidential primary.

He is also accused of offering the same employee a "substantial donation" in return for expediting his transfer to a different housing authority.

He was released on $50,000 personal recognizance bail and must meet several court-ordered conditions to remain free.
