Ex-Rochester firefighter accused of stealing prescription drugs awaiting jury's verdict
DOVER - A former Rochester firefighter and paramedic is awaiting an answer from a grand jury, after he was charged for allegedly taking prescription drugs meant for patients.
According to the Union Leader, 50-year-old Donald Penney was a 20-year veteran emergency responder before he was accused of stealing prescription drugs for his own use on 25 occasions over the course of 16 months.
A motion to dismiss Penney's 29 felony charges was denied, and his trial has been going on for three weeks.
On Friday, the jury deliberated for two hours and was expected to resume Monday morning.
