Event to benefit Kim Cates scholarship fund to be held in Milford on Saturday

MILFORD - A comedy night will be held Saturday to raise money for a scholarship fund in memory of Kimberly Cates.

The event is at the Amato Center in Milford. Doors open at 6 p.m. and there will be three people performing.

Cates and her daughter Jaimie were brutally attacked and killed in their Mont Vernon home in 2009. Jaimie survived the attack.

The mission of the scholarship is to inspire those who are dedicated to helping those caring for others in post-secondary studies in the field of medicine.
