Epsom and Pittsfield are looking into the idea of sharing police officers

PITTSFIELD — The towns of Epsom and Pittsfield are looking into the possibility of sharing police officers.

According to the Union Leader, the chairman of Epsom's Board of Selectmen, Don Harty, attended the Pittsfield board's meeting on Tuesday where they presented the idea to the board, which would take effect especially during the overnight hours.

"It’s a great working relationship we have right now between the two police departments," Harty said. "...We’re just trying to make it so the town of Epsom and the town of Pittsfield aren’t duplicating efforts."

The idea is still in the works, Harty told the paper.
