Epping widow fills in for rest of late husband's selectman term
EPPING — The widow of an Epping town board selectmen has taken over for the remainder his term.
Susan McGeough kept the promise she made to her late husband, Jim, that she would continue his time in office after he lost his battle with cancer, according to the Union Leader.
She will serve until March of 2017 when voters will elect someone for the last year of his term.
Jim McGeough spent 15 years on the town’s budget committee and 10 on the conservation commission and had served as a selectman since 2009.
Susan McGeough has served as a selectman in the past and is well qualified for the the position, town officials said.
