Epping school evacuated as snow on roof becomes concern

EPPING - Students and staff at Epping Elementary School were evacuated after building inspectors deemed the school unsafe.

School officials noticed a few cracks in the walls and were concerned about more damage being done to the building from the snow piled up from this weekend's snowfall.

School officials say all schools will be closed Tuesday so they can inspect all buildings in the school district.

Parents who picked up their kids from school Monday were relieved the school acted quickly to get the children out of the building.

Crews also cleared snow off the roof of the school as Raymond Fire Department assisted Epping with keeping the building safe. Town officials were also on hand to help inspect the structure.
