Epping man accused of shooting his neighbor's pitbull

EPPING - An Epping man is under arrest after police said he shot his neighbor's dog in the mouth.

Police have charged Andrew Freisinger, 43, of 80 St. Laurent St. with cruelty to animals and reckless conduct.

He is accused of shooting a 1-year-old pitbull through the jaw on Sept. 6 when the animal reportedly ran across his front yard. The dog's owner lives next door to the suspect. The gunshot wound partially severed the dog's tongue.

Following an investigation, Freisinger was arrested Wednesday and arraigned in the 1Oth Circuit Court of Brentwood on Thursday. Bail was set by the judge at $500 cash and $2,500 personalrRecognizance. A probable cause hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 24 in the same court.
