Epping boy's official cause of death was drowning

EPPPING - An autopsy of a 2-year-old Epping boy has confirmed the cause of death was a drowning.

Police responded to a report Monday morning of a missing child that could not be found for about 10 minutes.

When Epping police arrived at 57 Hedding Road, they found the unresponsive child face-down in an above-ground pool.

The boy was still breathing when he was pulled from the pool and was transported to Exeter Hospital where he later died.

The infant's death was the second drowning in two days for the region.

Police have not released the name of the boy.
