End of an era: FairPoint stops sending out residential white page in NH

FairPoint customers in New Hampshire will no longer get a free residential white pages.

FairPoint officials say most people go online to look up phone numbers and paper phone books are increasingly irrelevant. As of May 1, the white pages, which list residential numbers, will be available only on request, but both residential and business listings will be available online on the company's website.

The decision to stop the annual shipment of residential white pages applies only to New Hampshire and Maine. Vermont regulations still require the local phone company to provide phone books to all customers.

The printed white pages will be free for any FairPoint customer who asks for one by calling 1-877-243-8339.

Online listing for FairPoint residential and business listings will be available online at fairpoint.com/whitepages.
